Biography
Zachary Babcock is a singer-songwriter who's passion is pop music. Zach focuses on living life to it's fullest and not stopping for anyone. He writes his music from his heart and soul at only age 16. He wasn't always a writer though...
Music has always oozed through Zachary's veins. When he was a toddler, he would never stop singing. It became clear to his father that he needed a musical outlet in his life. At the age of four, Zach was introduced to tap dance and instantly fell in love. Throughout the following 9 years, he tried many different kinds of dance and developed a rhythmic ear.
Zachary went through many "writing-curious" times as he calls them. The first one was in second grade when he wrote (and graciously sang into an undeletable video on YouTube,) his first song. He made copies of the lyrics and handed them out to his classmates at school. He then proceed to write a few more songs before giving up and forgetting about the phase. Zach recalls that the one thing this phase taught him was melody building. Even at that young age, Zachary was able to generate new and interesting melodies. He just needed new and interesting lyrics and a way to make the sound he imagined...
After a few years of no musical craft, Zachary fiercely returned to songwriting in seventh grade. He started channeling his emotions into lyrics instead of just digging words out of his head that rhyme. His style was definitely not polished yet as he would try many different techniques over the next several years, but it was the start of who he was as a songwriter.
In his eighth grade year, Zach was on his phone a lot and went through a toxic encounter with a stranger online. The stranger in question was attempting to write songs about Zach, so Babcock decided it was only right to tell the story from his perspective. He did, and to this day, Zach loves this song. "It is one of my most pure songs. It encapsulates exactly how I was feeling at the time," he says. The way this song went from Zach's emotions to his words creating poetry really sparked something and inspired Zach to continue writing, which he did for the next two years. Zach had successfully written 4 full length albums along with deluxe editions to each.
Zach wrote and wrote. Every bottled up emotion or thought or story he could create would be thrown directly into lyrics. He was building his abilities and even started to share his songs with friends. Zach had over 100 songs by the end of his freshman year. In January of 2024, Zach realized that music isn't about quantity and started acknowledging some of his work as practice and not something the world should see. He began his music distribution journey in March of that year with "Living a Lie" which is still available on streaming services!
